Ten distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), including seven adults and three children, received essential supplies and a message of support during a visit by Tri-Step Lodge No 99 to the Migrant Workers Resource Centre (MWRC) at the Philippine Embassy in Manama.
Led by Worshipful Master Rogin Follante, the community organisation visited the centre to extend support to Filipinos staying there. He was joined by senior deacon Albert Tabor, lodge secretary John Rivera, past master Mark Toquero, and candidates Paul Barios and Christopher Cunningham.
Labour Attaché Dr Orville Ballitoc expressed his appreciation for the group’s gesture of support towards OFWs facing difficult circumstances.
“Many OFWs are hardworking and good people who sometimes find themselves facing difficult circumstances beyond their control,” Dr Ballitoc said.
Drawing on his more than a year of service in Bahrain, he also highlighted the kindness and generosity of many Bahraini employers towards Filipino workers.

Officials with essential supplies
“While challenges may arise in any workplace, many employers genuinely care about the welfare of their Filipino employees and extend support when it is needed.”
Beyond the essential supplies, the visit offered encouragement and reassurance to the beneficiaries, highlighting the importance of compassion, volunteerism and community solidarity in supporting Filipinos facing difficult times away from home.
Tri-Step Lodge No 99 has also been active in community initiatives across Bahrain, partnering with the Travelers Tribe Masonic Club Bahrain, also known as T2, and the Filipino-American Association of Bahrain (Fil Am Bahrain) on various charitable activities.
