Videos show emergency teams digging up oil-soaked sand on a beach. Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions and operational challenges continue to hamper salvage efforts for the grounded vessel, the state news agency reported on Monday.
Oman has been coordinating the salvage operation with risk-management firm Ambrey to contain environmental damage from the spill, which some estimates place at up to 2,000sq km.
