A total of 300 summer care kits were distributed as part of the Yousif and Aysha Almoayyed Foundation’s (YAAF) ‘Summer Care Initiative 2026’, a community-focused programme aimed at supporting labourers working outdoors during the summer months in Bahrain.
The kits were distributed to workers at a labour camp in Askar, in collaboration with the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS). Each kit included a cloth bag, an insulated water bottle, a wide-brimmed hat, arm sleeves, a face mask/balaclava, and hydration powder.
The initiative was designed with the needs of outdoor labourers in mind, providing practical items intended to support their comfort, hydration and protection during the summer.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Yousif and Aysha Almoayyed Foundation vice-chairperson May Almoayyed, Y K Almoayyed & Sons managing director and MWPS chairperson Mona Almoayyed, foundation manager Ashish Shetty, along with officials and representatives from MWPS.
The foundation said the Summer Care Initiative forms part of YAAF’s ongoing commitment to meaningful community engagement and supporting people across Bahrain.
The presence of representatives from both the foundation and MWPS at the distribution reflected the collaborative nature of the initiative and provided an opportunity to engage directly with the beneficiaries.
Members of the labour community expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the foundation for the support.
The Summer Care Initiative 2026 marks the foundation’s first initiative specifically aimed at providing practical summer support to the labour community, reinforcing YAAF’s commitment to programmes that deliver meaningful and tangible benefits to the community.
