A century of meetings, countless speeches and a shared passion for Hindi came together in Bahrain as Pratham Hindi Toastmasters Club celebrated its 100th meeting with an evening of words, music and laughter.
Held at the Alayam Media Centre in Janabiya, the milestone event also marked Hindi Diwas (Hindi Day) under the theme ‘Vichaar, Abhivyakti, Prabhav’, translating in English to ‘Thought, Expression and Impact’.
The celebration brought the beauty and diversity of Hindi to the local community through poetry, music and cultural performances, with writer and humorous poet Dr Ram ‘Akela’ among the highlights of the evening.
Guests were also treated to a Hindi quiz and a raffle draw, adding an element of fun to an occasion that combined language, culture and the Toastmasters tradition of public speaking.
Chartered in 2022 by Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Anil Pachlangia, Pratham Hindi Toastmasters Club has carved out a distinctive place within Toastmasters District 20, which covers Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Russia and Kazakhstan.
It is the first Hindi-speaking club in the district and was established with the aim of providing members with a platform to develop their communication and leadership skills while celebrating their linguistic and cultural heritage.
Founder member Mr Pachlangia thanked everyone who had supported the club and contributed to its growth, saying the 100th meeting represented an important milestone in its journey.
The event was chaired by TM Neelam Sharma alongside club president TM Bharti Maheshwari, while TM Anjana Vijayvagiya served as master of ceremonies.
The evening reflected the club’s broader mission – using Hindi not only as a language of communication, but also as a bridge connecting people through ideas, creativity and cultural expression.
