The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced the launch of Bahrain Village, an interactive experience for visitors to the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2 - 4.
Held as part of the activities accompanying the race, Bahrain Village will showcase the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism and cultural attractions, heritage and diverse tourism experiences.
Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, said major international sporting events, particularly Formula 1 races, provide an important platform to showcase Bahrain’s tourism and cultural attractions to audiences worldwide and strengthen its presence in international tourism markets.
She said Bahrain Village offers an integrated experience reflecting the Kingdom’s heritage, culture and identity, enabling visitors to discover its diverse tourism offerings.
Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), said Bahrain Village brings a distinctive Bahraini presence to the activities accompanying the race in Malaysia and introduces Formula 1 fans to aspects of Bahrain’s Formula 1 experience.
He said the village will be one of the main attractions in the race entertainment area, offering visitors an opportunity to discover Bahraini identity and the Kingdom’s experience in hosting Formula 1 races.
Bahrain Village will feature heritage experiences, cultural activities and live handicraft demonstrations. Bahraini food brands will also participate, offering visitors an opportunity to experience local flavours and learn about the Kingdom’s culinary scene.
