The kingdom’s culture and heritage is set to shine at Bahrain Village during the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia next weekend.
The launch of the interactive experience was announced yesterday by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority as part of the events accompanying the race, which will be staged at Sepang International Circuit from October 2 to 4.
Bahrain Village will feature heritage experiences, cultural activities and live demonstrations of handicrafts. Several Bahraini food brands will also participate, allowing visitors a taste of Bahraini flavours.
BTEA chief executive Sara Buheji believes the Bahrain Village will offer an integrated experience that reflects the unique identity of the kingdom and help woo Asian travellers to experience the country for themselves.
And, Bahrain International Circuit chief executive officer Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa hopes it will convey to race fans a part of the atmosphere and experiences that they have become accustomed to during the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix staged in the kingdom.
This year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was originally scheduled for April but had to be called off due to regional conflict. A large delegation of Bahraini personnel, featuring more than 500 marshals, is set to play a major role at the event in Malaysia.
