Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the 316th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure which reviewed a number of key infrastructure and development initiatives.
The committee praised His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visits to Sitra and Hidd to assess citizens’ needs, as well as his visits to Bapco Refining and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) to recognise national personnel who ensured the continuity of energy supplies and industrial production.
The committee highlighted measures to compensate citizens whose homes and vehicles were damaged in the Iranian attacks, commending efforts to repair damaged properties and support affected families.
It also welcomed the establishment of Environmental and Public Health Crimes Unit, aimed at strengthening enforcement in environmental protection and public health.
The committee reviewed plans to enhance wastewater infrastructure, improve road safety through upgraded traffic signs and markings, and expand sustainable management of used cooking oil.
It also highlighted ongoing road network improvements, including new turning lanes on National Charter Street, and reviewed plans to develop Manama Central Market to accommodate growing commercial activity.
The committee further discussed the expansion of digital government services and efforts to introduce Building Information Modelling (BIM) ahead of future upgrades to the “Benayat” building permit system.
