A man has been arrested in the US state of Georgia after allegedly faking a medical emergency to avoid paying a $63 (approx BD23) restaurant bill.
Abdul Hakeem Rasheed, 26, is facing charges of theft of service and unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
The incident occurred while Rasheed was dining at a local Red Lobster restaurant and claimed to be suffering a medical emergency.
Attending police officers located Rasheed at the venue and quickly determined he was feigning illness.
Officers confirmed the medical claim was a ploy intended to evade paying for his meal.
Following his arrest, a judge set Rasheed's bond at $1,500 for theft of service and $3,000 for unlawful conduct.
The decision means his attempt to avoid a $63 bill could cost him up to $4,500 (approx. BD 1,690) in total bail.
