Al Haddad Motors, the authorised general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Bahrain, has achieved the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, writes Client Editor Olivia Middleton.
This internationally-recognised standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) reinforces the company’s commitment to robust cybersecurity, data protection and digital safety across its operations.
The milestone follows a rigorous process involving the review and refinement of internal procedures, inter-departmental collaboration, extensive management reviews and a comprehensive final certification audit. The credentials specifically cover the company’s corporate IT infrastructure and associated systems supporting its overall business operations, aligned strictly with its Statement of Applicability.
The extensive implementation project was led internally by Al Haddad group IT manager Mohammed Mohteshamuddin, who co-ordinated cross-functional efforts across various departments throughout the design and audit process.
Al Haddad Motors chief executive officer Warren Hudson said: “Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is an important milestone for Al Haddad Motors and reflects our continued commitment to operating at the highest standards. As our business becomes increasingly digital, protecting information and maintaining robust systems are fundamental to the trust our customers, partners and employees place in us.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification
“This achievement has been a company-wide effort. I would particularly like to recognise our IT and HR teams, together with our management and employees across the organisation, for their commitment and co-operation throughout the certification process. The certification is not simply an achievement for today; it establishes a framework that will help us continually strengthen our information security practices for the future.”
Looking ahead, Mr Hudson added: “Our focus now is to build on this achievement. Information security is an ongoing responsibility, and we will continue investing in our people, processes, facilities, technology and systems to ensure that Al Haddad Motors remains prepared for the evolving digital and cybersecurity landscape.”
By securing this global accreditation, the automotive leader ensures that information security remains deeply embedded within day-to-day operations rather than being treated solely as an IT responsibility.
This milestone reinforces Al Haddad Motors’ ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, operational excellence and maintaining the ultimate confidence of its customers and business partners within the kingdom. It also reflects a broader corporate philosophy dedicated to delivering the world-class standards of quality and customer experience synonymous with the global Mercedes-Benz marque, the company added.
