Tourism Minister and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) chairperson Fatima Al Sairafi took part in the 26th World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit hosted in Valletta, Malta.
The event began yesterday and will conclude tomorrow. It brings together leading experts and decision-makers from the global travel and tourism sector.
During the summit, Ms Al Sairafi joined ministers and global chief executive officers for the “Global Leaders Dialogue” session to discuss the shifts reshaping competitiveness in travel and tourism. Discussions explored ways to strengthen destinations’ ability to adapt to global changes, facilitate the movement of travellers and capital, and develop more effective partnerships between governments and the private sector to attract investment and achieve sustainable growth.
Bahrain’s participation followed an official invitation from the WTTC, in co-operation with the Malta Tourism Authority. It supported the kingdom’s engagement in specialised international forums, providing opportunities to exchange expertise and perspectives on the future of travel and tourism and explore the latest international trends and practices.
The summit examines the major transformations shaping the global sector and future opportunities for growth and investment. It also addresses seamless travel experiences, the growing impact of artificial intelligence, sustainability, innovation, and the role of technology in reshaping the travel and tourism ecosystem.
The WTTC Global Summit is one of the leading international platforms bringing together the public and private sectors to discuss the future of travel and tourism and explore policies and opportunities that support the sector’s growth and strengthen its contribution to the global economy.
