GOLF – Former Masters champion Sergio Garcia joined the LIV Golf exodus yesterday, confirming he plans to return to the DP World Tour.
The 46-year-old Spaniard had served as the captain of the Fireballs GC team since leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022.
“Next season, I’ll be playing on the DP World Tour,” Garcia posted on social media.
“This tour has been a huge part of my career from the very beginning, and I’m proud to call it home again. I’m also keeping my options open for a return to the PGA Tour. And probably the most exciting part for me is strengthening my personal relationships, both new and old.”
Garcia won the 2017 Masters and has collected 11 PGA Tour titles and 16 wins on the DP World Tour over his career.
He was a two-time winner in LIV Golf, with victories in Spain in 2024 and Hong Kong in 2025.
His best finish during the 2026 season was a runner-up effort in Virginia in May.
Earlier this fall, Garcia asked a federal judge to terminate his deal with LIV Golf, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September.
LIV Golf is hoping to continue in 2027 and beyond under a “LIV 2.0” business plan after the Saudi Public Investment Fund withdrew its support.
