MANAMA: Twelve more people have been released from quarantine after completing the necessary 14-day isolation period and running tests to ensure they are free of Covid-19, the Health Ministry said yesterday.
This brings the number of quarantined people released to 38, with 26 people being released until Thursday.
All the 12 individuals (one female and 11 males) were Chinese nationals.
The total number of active cases of coronavirus infection in Bahrain has risen to 56, with one case listed as “critical”.
The ministry’s updated statistics last night showed that 5,911 tests had turned out negative, out of 5,967 people tested for the flu-like disease.
It added that of the 56 cases, 48 had tested positive upon arrival in Bahrain and eight were tested positive in the country.
The ministry noted that all quarantined individuals are being monitored and cared for by a specialised team.
