More time sought for calorie count rule
I hope they’ll focus on knowledge of ingredients or at least accurate labelling of ingredients next. That would be very helpful for those of us with food allergies.
@natsam80
I hope along with calorie counting, they provide accessible and affordable health services to those suffering from eating disorders. Calorie counting may help prevent the rising rate of obesity but can also play a part in damaging people suffering from eating disorders.

Finally! Can properly log on a realistic chicken shawarma on MyFitnessPal.
@rubymirchandani
Calorie count is very important; it helps a lot. It has already been introduced in all restaurants and coffee shops in Saudi Arabia.
@lina_sabrawi
And yet Saudis are amongst the most obese people around.
@naiak0987
This should be applied 100 per cent; the obesity rates are insane.
@lara_j_1999
More important is that each restaurant should put the details of what chicken/meat they use, their source of bread, vegetables, etc. There should be complete transparency on that which we currently lack in Bahrain; only a few of them mention it.
@nader.salman973
When it’s implemented it’s very important that the numbers are presented in a way that makes it possible to compare different food items with each other.
@texmo
Bunch of boring numbers on the board is not going to stop me from swallowing a whole bucket of KFC wings.
@zzpoltergeist
They need to stop finding excuses to not make restaurants display calorie count of meals/drinks. We are a developed country and we have high obesity rates due to lack of knowledge of nutritional value. Embarrassing.
@amina.hijris
Massive clean-up drive after pollution alert
Please clean the coasts in Seef also; could you please also publish about Seef coasts? There’s so much garbage getting into the sea.
@asbahrain
If only people could clean up after themselves ... but I guess they can’t!
@sam.eerah
Because people think others who are below them should do it for them. It’s a shame. Bahrain is too small to be this dirty. No civic pride.
@dewaynebowen
That’s so wonderful. Very few governments in the world would be so sensitive to be environmentally aware and act so quickly. Kudos!
