A number of illegal expatriate workers are to be deported in compliance with the law, said the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
The violators were arrested during a crackdown in the Muharraq Governorate by the LMRA Labour Inspection Directorate in co-operation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Police Directorate of the governorate.
The crackdown aimed to ensure expatriate workers comply with the LMRA regulations and law on residence.
The authority announced that it would step up inspections in co-operation with competent authorities.
LMRA inspectors will continue checking commercial registers countrywide to identify illegal practices detrimental to the labour market.
Complaints related to the labour market or illegal expatriate workers can be reported to LMRA communication centre on 17506055.
