Royal Oman Police (ROP) have arrested 16 Asian nationals who attempted to enter the country illegally by sea in the wilayat of Barka.
Coastguard units spotted the group approaching the shoreline and intercepted their vessel before they could reach land.
The ROP confirmed that the suspects were taken into custody and that legal proceedings are underway against them.
