  • <p>Bahrain&rsquo;s parliamentary delegation has concluded its participation in the 31st Arab Scouting Conference, hosted by the Emirates Scout Association in Abu Dhabi. The delegation, led by MP Mohammed Al Alawi and comprising MP Jalal Kazem Hassan and Shura Council member Redha Munfaredi, joined discussions on strengthening the Arab scouting movement, including youth initiatives, digital transformation, leadership and innovation. The delegates also attended panel discussions on digital leadership, youth protection, innovative education and the future of volunteer work in the region.</p>

  • <p>Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh has concluded an official visit to Jordan at the invitation of Jordanian Senate President Faisal Akef Al Fayez. The visit included wide-ranging talks with senior Jordanian officials, including the Senate President, Prime Minister and Defence Minister Dr Jaafar Hassan, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan. Mr Al Saleh said the discussions reflected the depth of the long-standing relationship between Bahrain and Jordan and the continued support the ties enjoy from the leadership of both kingdoms.</p>

  • Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received a joint delegation from the GCC secretariat general and the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. The delegation was led by GCC Assistant Secretary General for Security Affairs Brigadier Hamad Al Amimi and Acting Executive Director of the Airports Sector at the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Hamad Al Mashghouni. The minister expressed Bahrain’s deep appreciation for the historical ties with the UAE, and underscored the robust security co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries. He noted the importance of strengthening the exchange of expertise and successful practices within a unified framework to safeguard collective security and protect the interests and achievements of GCC states. Gen Shaikh Rashid underscored that the adoption of the first phase of the “Single Point” system, approved by GCC Interior Ministers at their meeting in Kuwait, allows GCC citizens to complete all travel procedures from a single point, which will begin on a trial basis between Bahrain and the UAE.

<p>The Palakkad Arts and Cultural Theatre (PAACT) felicitated Amad Group chairman and managing director Pambavasan Nair at his residence in Manama for his recent humanitarian work honour. Dr Nair has won the Dr Mangalam Swaminathan Pravasi Bhartiya Excellence Award and will be bestowed with the honour at a ceremony to be held in New Delhi later this month. The award, instituted by the Dr Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation, recognises individuals and institutions contributing to nation-building across social service, arts, science, journalism and medicine. Dr Nair has contributed greatly to both his homeland, Palakkad, and the expatriate community through philanthropic initiatives. Through the Chandramma Madhavan Nair Trust, founded in memory of his parents, Mr Nair has provided homes for the homeless, medical aid for the ailing and pension support for the underprivileged. PAACT office-bearers said his achievements are a source of immense pride for the organisation and the Malayali community. Attendees included PAACT chief co-ordinator Jyothi Menon, president Ashok Kumar, general secretary Shivdas Nair and several members.&nbsp;</p>

  • <p>Fans attending the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain yesterday were treated to a pair of exciting fan-engagement activities held as part of the pre-race build-up at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir. Scores of race-goers went for a pit walk and saw the WEC teams up close in their garages, hard at work tuning their Hypercars and LMGT3 contenders before lining up on the grid. The spectators were also able to meet their favourite WEC drivers during an autograph session, where they took pictures and had memorabilia signed.   • <p>The Capital Governor visited the weekly majlis of the Capital Trustees Board in its headquarters in Bilad Al Qadeem to signal a new phase of partnership between the two parties to advance municipal services and urban development projects. Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa reaffirmed commitment to push ahead with plans, in the presence of Capital Trustees Board Chairman Saleh Tarradah, Parliament&rsquo;s financial and economic affairs committee chairman MP Ahmed Al Salloom, officials and residents.</p>
<p>Discussions focused on new joint initiatives aimed at improving the city&rsquo;s infrastructure, accelerating municipal transactions, and raising the overall quality of life for residents.</p>
<p>Mr Tarradah affirmed that the board would continue hosting its weekly meetings to meet residents, document their feedback, and forward their proposals to relevant authorities for action.</p>
