  • <p>Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson in the Japanese Parliament Horiuchi Noriko, during his visit to Japan to participate in the inaugural Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.</p>
<p>The Chairperson noted the launch of the strategic dialogue between the two countries and commended the deep-rooted Bahrain-Japan ties, which have been strengthened across all fields in support of mutual interests.</p>
<p>She emphasised the importance of enhancing communication and joint co-ordination to advance bilateral co-operation across various domains, including political and parliamentary diplomacy, as well as aligning positions at the international level in addressing global challenges.</p>

  • <p>Attorney General Dr Ali Al Buainain attended the fifth annual meeting of the Arab Association for Prosecutors, held in Oman on Tuesday and Wednesday. </p><p>The meeting discussed strengthening co-operation among Arab public prosecution offices, enhancing technical and administrative capacities, and exchanging expertise to support efforts in combating crime. </p><p>A seminar on investigating crimes related to digital currencies was also held on the sidelines, during which Bahrain’s Public Prosecution presented its expertise in handling financial crime cases.</p>

  • Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Prosecution Office Chief Prosecutor Ahmed Al Ramadan was honoured during the fifth annual meeting of the Arab Public Prosecutors Association held in Oman on Tuesday and Wednesday. He was awarded the Distinguished Public Prosecution Award for members of the public prosecution offices in the member states of the association. The Chief Prosecutor has demonstrated remarkable proficiency in analysing and extracting evidence.

  • <p>Around 350 workers benefited from the 11th round of the Indian Community Relief Fund&rsquo;s (ICRF) Thirst Quenchers 2025 summer campaign which was recently held at a work site located in East Hidd. Water, juice and fruits were distributed to labourers from Dar Al Khaleej Company in East Hidd Housing Project.</p>
<p>This year&rsquo;s campaign is being supported by the Labour Ministry, Interior Ministry, Labour Market Regulatory Authority, International Organisation for Migration, Manav Dharma Sena and the Bohra community.</p>

  • <p>Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary for Political Affairs Khaled Al Jalahma emphasised Bahrain&rsquo;s keenness to strengthen co-operation and partnership with the UN, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad and the follow-up of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.</p>

  • <p>The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) received a delegation from the United States Congress at the Expatriate Protection Centre, in the presence of representatives from the US Department of State. The delegation was briefed on the efforts of Bahrain to continue strengthening a stable work environment that safeguards the rights of all parties, in addition to the pioneering initiatives implemented by the kingdom in this sector, particularly the Wage Protection System (WPS) and the Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combating Trafficking in Persons (RCoE). The delegation was also briefed about the role of the Expatriate Protection Centre in providing comprehensive services, including preventive support and legal guidance, as well as shelter for victims or those potentially at risk.</p>

The meeting was attended by Shura Council chairman’s adviser Dr Fawzia Al Jeeb.   • The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in co-operation with the She Medic First Aid Training Centre, organised a specialised training course titled Basic Disaster Life Support, accredited by the American Academy of Paediatrics. The course was held from August 19 to 21 at the Bapco Club in Awali. The course targeted RHF students aged over 16, aiming to equip them with basic first aid and disaster response skills to enhance their health awareness and readiness to act appropriately in emergencies. RHF secretary general Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Bapco Refining chief executive Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery presented certificates to the participants. The students were awarded accredited licences from the American Academy of Paediatrics after successfully completing the course requirements.
