  • <p>Saraya Real Estate Company has formally delivered the first batch of housing units under the &lsquo;Al Wadi&rsquo; project in the Buhair area of the Southern Governorate to beneficiaries.</p>
<p>The delivery ceremony was attended by Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna Al Romaihi; Saraya Real Estate Company and Smart Skyline chairman Saud Kanoo; Urban Planning and Development Authority CEO Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat; Housing and Urban Planning Ministry&rsquo;s Under-Secretary Fatima Al Mannai; Housing Bank director general Abdulla Talib; along with a number of officials from the ministry and the company.</p>
<p>Units from the first phase of the project were presented to beneficiaries following the completion of all construction and infrastructure works in line with approved technical and engineering standards.</p>

  • <p>Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak chaired the regular meeting of the Co-operation Committee between the Capital Board of Trustees, municipal councils and government entities.</p>
<p>He highlighted the pivotal role undertaken by the board and municipal councils in supporting the development, progress and prosperity process.</p>
<p>The minister emphasised the importance of continuing to enhance frameworks of co-operation and co-ordination between government entities, the board and municipal councils.</p>

  • <p>Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa honoured members of the security teams from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, who succeeded in uncovering the circumstances of security cases and arresting the suspects. Chief of Police Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan and ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa were present. The cases included the arrest of two Chinese nationals at the airport in connection with the theft of gold jewellery from a residence valued at approximately BD50,000; the arrest of two suspects for setting a fire and attempting to blow up an ATM of a national bank; and the arrest of two Asians involved in the murder of another person. The minister commended the high level of readiness and professionalism demonstrated by the honoured officers and non-commissioned officers, as well as their courage and swift response in handling incidents and security cases, in a manner that safeguards public safety and security. He emphasised that security efforts do not end with the arrest of offenders, but must also include strengthening security awareness to contribute to crime prevention.</p>

<p>Northern Governor Hassan Al Madani visited the Northern Municipal Council headquarters in Budaiya, underscoring growing co-operation between the governorate and the elected municipal body to improve services and support development initiatives across the region. Council chairman Dr Sayed Shubber Al Wedaie and secretary-general Hanaa Marhoon were also present. The governor met a number of council members and employees, commending their efforts and contributions towards enhancing service delivery and municipal performance in the governorate.</p>

  • Police Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan yesterday received US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Elizabeth Litchfield, in the presence of Assistant Chief of Police for Operations and Training Brigadier Mohammed Abdulla Al Haram. Lt Gen Al Hassan commended growing bilateral ties between Bahrain and the US across various domains. They also reviewed means to enhance co-operation, co-ordination and the exchange of expertise.

  • <p>Nasser Science and Technology Centre continued its specialised cybersecurity training programmes for national cadres across various institutions at the Cybersecurity Lab, launched in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre. The training targeted new cadres from key national institutions and companies, including specialists from the Information and eGovernment Authority and Bahrain Network Company. The workshops focused on improving technical skills in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities, and developing secure applications from the first stage of development, enhancing cyber readiness and reducing risks according to international best practices.</p>

  • Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received Bahrain’s Ambassador to Jordan Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Gen Shaikh Rashid praised the embassy’s role in strengthening and developing all forms of co-operation between the two countries, particularly in security co-operation and co-ordination, and in providing the necessary services to Bahraini citizens in Jordan.
