<p>The delegation from Parliament and the Shura Council is led by Shura Council services committee vice-chairman Talal Al Mannai.</p>
<p>Mr Al Mannai highlighted Bahrain&rsquo;s commitment to strengthening institutions and enhancing transparency through public-private partnerships and innovation-driven initiatives, in line with Bahrain&rsquo;s Economic Vision 2030.</p>
<p>The legislative authority, he said, plays a key role in enacting laws that invest in people and institutions while ensuring accountability and supporting social development strategies.</p>

<p>Bahrain highlighted ongoing efforts to preserve its architectural and cultural heritage at a major forum hosted by Qatar Museums in Doha. The 27th Conference on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage in the Arab World, held under the theme &lsquo;Sustainability of Cultural Heritage: Challenges and Future Strategies&rsquo;, was organised in co-operation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Alesco). Bahrain was represented at the event by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) director-general of heritage Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa who presented a research paper titled &lsquo;Muharraq City Development Plan&rsquo;. The conference also witnessed the launch of the First Arab Youth Forum for Sustainable Heritage, designed to empower Arab youth and enhance their role in the fields of archaeology and cultural heritage preservation, thereby reinforcing the concept of sustainability within joint Arab cultural initiatives.&nbsp;</p>

  • <p>His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has affirmed the importance of unity among nations and avoiding escalation, noting that this remains the highest goal and the most effective means to achieve security and prosperity. </p><p>The King also emphasised the importance of supporting efforts to promote peace and co-operation in a manner that enhances development, stability and prosperity for the region and the wider international community. </p><p>His Majesty expressed pride in the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) personnel, praising their dedication and loyalty during a visit to the BDF General Command yesterday. </p><p>He was briefed on future plans to develop all its branches and units. </p><p>His Majesty was received by BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Defence Minister Lieutenant General Abdulla Al Nuaimi and senior officers. </p><p>He also commended the outstanding performance of BDF personnel in military courses both in the kingdom and abroad.</p>

  • Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met Brigadier General Ahmad Al Hajjar, Minister of Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon, who is visiting Bahrain to attend the IISS Manama Dialogue 2025. The meeting discussed historical relations between the two countries, and the progress and development of these ties across various sectors. They also reviewed efforts to enhance co-operation to serve the shared interests of both countries and their peoples. The meeting further addressed the efforts of the Lebanese government to strengthen security and stability, preserve its sovereignty and independence, and meet the aspirations of the Lebanese people for growth and prosperity. They also exchanged views on latest regional developments and their implications for security and stability in the region.

  • <p>Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa attended the 2025 graduation ceremony of the British University of Bahrain, held at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir. The ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, Education Minister and Higher Education Council chairman Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma and British Ambassador Alastair Long.</p>

  • <p>Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser Humaidan yesterday inaugurated five ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations, marking a key step in Bahrain&rsquo;s transition to clean and sustainable transport.</p>
<p>Located in Diyar Al Muharraq, the Avenues, Adliya, Liwan and Durrat Al Bahrain, the stations can charge vehicles up to 80 per cent in under 15 minutes, making them among the fastest in the region.</p>
<p>To encourage adoption, charging will be free for six months.</p>
<p>The ministry also launched a mobile app to help users locate charging stations, track availability in real time and make digital payments as part of efforts to modernise services and advance sustainable mobility.</p>

<p>The UN team in Bahrain organised an event to mark the world body&rsquo;s 80th anniversary in Bahrain at the Bahrain Science Centre for SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) yesterday, in partnership with the Youth Affairs Ministry.</p>

  • <p>Palestinian cause will always remain a priority for Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, said Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam at the 39th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union session.</p>
<p>The session was chaired by Oman Shura Council chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, on the sidelines of the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.</p>
<p>Mr Al Musallam noted that Bahrain, through its non-permanent membership in the Security Council for the next two years, will prioritise the Palestinian cause and Arab issues, reflecting its commitment to joint Arab action and awareness of increased responsibilities under current circumstances.</p>

Mr Al Musallam emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing constructive co-operation with Asian countries and achieving optimal investment in developmental paths.</p><p>He highlighted the meeting’s aim to enhance Asian parliamentary co-operation and expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s parliamentary group being entrusted with the APA presidency for 2026.</p><p>He underlined that Bahrain’s parliamentary group will continue advancing the Assembly’s role by opening broad co-operation and co-ordination for the benefit of Asian countries and peoples.</p>
