An expatriate man in Dubai has been given a life sentence for murdering his friend and compatriot because he ‘flirted’ with his sister.
The convict lured his friend to a deserted area in Jebel Ali and killed him using scissors and a scalpel, according to the Dubai Court of First Instance.
He discovered in February last year that the victim was contacting his sister in their home country to engage in an affair with him.
The sister denied the victim’s request and the defendant asked him several times to stop contacting his sister but the victim ignored him.
Both had a physical altercation two days before the murder.
A medical report reveals that the defendant used a scalpel to cut the throat of the victim before stabbing him in the head and other parts of the body with the scissor.
Dubai Public Prosecution charged him with premeditated murder.
Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the defendant to life in prison to be followed by deportation.
