US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed that Iran should fulfil its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, according to a release made public after Xi wrapped up his state visit to the United States.
The two leaders also agreed that no country or institution shall charge transit fees for passage through international waterways.
China’s Vice President Han Zheng yesterday reaffirmed his country’s support for the security of Gulf and Middle Eastern states amid rising military tensions that threaten trade and energy supplies.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Han said China supports the security of Gulf countries and condemns attacks against them, while also emphasising the need to safeguard global supply chain security.
