PHYSICAL attendance has been made mandatory in vocational training institutes.
Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan yesterday issued a circular to all licensed vocational training institutions approved by the ministry, obliging them to conduct training activities in person.
He said the move aims to strengthen the training process.
“Members of the administrative and training departments are obliged to be present at the headquarters of the training institution during official working hours,” the minister said in a statement yesterday.
“They must alert all trainees regarding the decision and ensure their compliance with actual attendance during theoretical and practical periods - which includes assessments, examinations and on-the-job-training.”
The circular also highlighted the need to commit to the specified capacity of the training institution without exceeding it, while taking into account the availability of health facilities and rest areas for trainees and their compatibility with health standards.
“Those who do not comply will be held accountable,” the minister added.
