Five men were arrested in two separate drug possession and use cases, with narcotics worth more than BD16,000 found in their possession.
The suspects, identified only as Asians, are aged between 25 and 42, revealed the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science.
An investigation was launched immediately after information was received by the Anti-Narcotics Directorate leading to the identification of the suspects.
“The suspects were identified and arrested in possession of narcotic substances valued at approximately BD16,150,” revealed the directorate in a statement.
“The narcotics were seized and legal measures were taken in preparation to refer the two cases to the Public Prosecution.”
