The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa is thrilled to announce the return of its Lebanese Food and Cultural Festival at the hotel’s popular Zahle restaurant.
The event returns to the Lebanese themed outlet in its most recent incarnation, following a brief interlude as a result of the pandemic, preceded by 25 years of annual success.
During the 10-day event, guests can enjoy a special set menu put together by a team of specialist chefs, consisting of a range of authentic Lebanese dishes.
The eventful evenings will be lined up with entertainment by renowned Lebanese singer Assi Bitar and the popular Dabke group, including folkloric music and dancers.
“We are launching the Lebanese Festival at the Gulf Hotel in Zahle and the fun will continue until November 26,” Gulf Hotel food and beverage assistant director Adrian Cordero told the GDN.
“We will be offering two different kinds of set menus with cold and hot mezze, a selection of mixed grills and sweets.
“Al Wazir Dabke, an eight-strong band, will be travelling to Bahrain directly from Beirut, so we can have traditional and authentic music from the heart of Lebanon.
“We have also brought a special saj bread maker from the country and she will be helping us to serve the offering in ‘mama-style’, the way that it is supposed to be,” he added.
Zahle head chef Marwan Elbay said the festival will also mark the National Day of Lebanon, celebrated on November 22 each year.
“We have organised it to let guests come and find out what Lebanese cuisine means and we will do our best to show them the country and its culture – which is why we decided to continue the celebrations over a 10-day period and not just hold it on one day,” he added.
“We will have classic and traditional cuisine served – the best of Lebanon – and it includes hummus, mutabbal, warak enab (vine leaves), tabbouleh and fattoush. There will also be hot mezze dishes like liver, as well as mixed grills such as kofte and kebab.”
Guests can enjoy the themed dining experiences and live entertainment until Saturday. For more information and bookings, call 3655 1222.
