BAHRAIN’S national sailing team won four medals, including three gold medals, in the 15th Pan-Arab Games, which ends today in Algeria.
Abdullah Janahi won the gold medal in the Laser Standard and made history in the Games after winning full marks in eight races to announce his readiness to participate in the Asian Games in Hangzhou 2022.
Malak Al Dosari took first place in the Optimist category and Walid Tawfiq won the gold in the Laser 4.7 category, while Khalifa Al Dosari claimed bronze in the same category.
The table tennis team won three more medals after the men’s doubles team of Rashid Sanad and Elias Al Yasi won silver medal after losing to the Saudi team of Abdulaziz Bushlaibi and Ali Al Khadrawi in the final 3-1.
The women’s team of Mariam Al Aali and Amruta Amit also won a silver in the doubles competition, after losing in the final to Tunisia’s Fadwa Al Qarsi and Abeer Al Haj Saleh 3-1.
The mixed doubles team of Mariam Al Aali and Rashid Sanad won the bronze medal after losing to Tunisia in the semi-finals.
