The Kingdom of Bahrain is known to have an important strategic and political dimension in the region, with the importance of spreading a culture of peace, laying the foundations for dialogue and coexistence between religions, cultures and civilisations.
It enhances its pivotal role regionally and internationally in strengthening peaceful coexistence, security and stability as basic pillars of sustainable development, pointing to the balance that Bahrain achieves in.
Bahrain’s foreign policy includes consolidating principles, including the peace agreement with the State of Israel, in exchange for emphasising work to complete the peace process to reach a just solution to the Palestinian issue with a two-state solution, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and in a way that guarantees the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
As a political researcher, I tend to notice that what distinguishes the kingdom from many other countries is the continuation of the authentic Bahraini approach to noble human principles and values and its contribution to strengthening global security, peace and stability for the good and well-being of the people of the entire world, based on its ancient civilisational history and its modern approach that keeps pace with modernity and development.
Bahrain has friendly and open diplomatic relations with many countries of the world and since the signing of the Abraham Accords, has started strengthening its relations with Israel in various sectors, to achieve common aspirations, activate agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries in vital fields to strengthen co-operation mainly in the financial, economic and investment sectors by aiming to increase the volume of bilateral investments and develop areas of cultural co-operation, innovation, defence, health, education, agriculture, technology and other areas of expertise.
Many bilateral meetings helped explore various ways to achieve peace and prosperity in the region, stressing the importance of addressing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, given its crucial role as a basis for regional peace and development and the importance of finding common ground for understanding and co-operation, through mutual respect and working tirelessly to build a future full of harmony, stability and common prosperity, advancing efforts to bring stability, peace and prosperity to the region, emphasising the importance of concerted efforts of all, in order to achieve tangible practical results that will benefit the countries and people of the region.
Bahrain’s message to the world and its approach to consolidating peace in the region enhances its role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
It is important to build awareness as to not pay attention to those who distort the efforts being made to bring peace to the region.
The visit of the Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, was warmly welcomed and he expressed that: “The expanding circle of peace (in the Middle East) is highly important, especially amid threats to global and regional stability. In the face of hate, threats and terror, there is one answer: alliances with friends.”
The most recent visit of Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel Eli Cohen with a business delegation witnessed productive discussions to help build people-to-people connections.
People need to enjoy the bounties of their country and to be a witness to its development, away from futile wars and conflicts that take place regionally and internationally.
