The volume of trade exchange between Bahrain and Thailand reached $342 million last year, recording a growth of 10 per cent on an annual basis.
This was revealed by Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass as he met a delegation of Thai businessmen.
He stressed that the BCCI is working to enhance co-operation in food security with Thailand.
He pointed out that such meetings have the potential to introduce promising investment and opportunities in Bahrain and Thailand, praising the volume of trade exchange existing between the two kingdoms.
Mr Nass stressed that the chamber pays great attention and keenness to achieve everything that would advance the development and revitalisation of Bahraini-Thai trade relations and everything that serves partnership relations between the business sectors.
Thai Ambassador Piyapak Sricharoen expressed appreciation for the BCCI’s support for joint projects and their efforts in strengthening trade relations at the private sector level, calling for taking advantage of the privileges enjoyed by foreign investors and the strategic location that characterises Bahrain.
He also praised the chamber’s role in facilitating partnerships and discussing economic and investment co-operation opportunities, and stressed the importance of intensifying the exchange of visits between trade delegations.
BCCI food sector committee chairman Khalid Al Ameen pointed out that the development of the investment climate in the two kingdoms paves the way for increased trade exchange and the creation of a strategic partnership.
