AS a beginner venturing into the world of jogging, I’ve been told by my ‘gym-bunny’ friends that it’s not just about burning calories, it’s about feeling those endorphins kick in and lifting your spirits as you go…
So, with that I slipped on my trainers and discovered the perfect spot to achieve just that: the Umm Al Hassam Walkway.
Nestled conveniently close to my residence and adjacent to the bustling Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Highway, this 1.4km loop offers a refreshing escape, all the while overlooking the serene Tubli Bay.
What sets this walkway apart are the vibrant trees that line its path. Planted just a couple of years ago, these 23 hibiscus and 22 neem trees not only add to the scenic beauty but also provide a refreshing ambiance as I push myself to go the extra mile.
Whether it’s a quick evening stroll or a brisk jog, the walkway accommodates all fitness enthusiasts. Personally, I prefer to visit just before sunset when the weather is cooler, enhancing my experience and making the workout even more enjoyable whilst I’m clocking steps on my smart fitness watch.
One of the highlights of this place is the exercise equipment strategically placed along the route. It offers visitors like me the opportunity to diversify our fitness routine while soaking in the natural surroundings. It’s motivating to see locals and expatriates alike utilising these facilities throughout the day, fostering a sense of community and shared wellness goals.
