A NUMBER of events have been lined up in Bahrain to celebrate the 94th Saudi National Day, on Monday.
The week-long calendar of activities, from tomorrow until September 27, will feature musical performance, traditional bands, a dhow show and hospitality packages.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) also announced the launch of a tourism campaign, titled ‘Delighted to See You’, during which visitors to the celebrations will be presented with gifts at Bahrain International Airport, King Fahad Causeway, hotels, resorts and various hospitality facilities.
“Saudi National Day is a reflection of deep-rooted relations and historical ties between the two kingdoms in both leadership and people,” said BTEA chief executive Sarah Buhiji.
“The events will serve as a window into authentic Bahraini culture and hospitality that the kingdom is known for.”
The most anticipated event will be the Dhow Show, paired with a traditional Saudi band, with hundreds of people expected to attend the event aimed at celebrating the vibrant sights and sounds of the two countries.
It will be held on Monday from noon to midnight at The Avenues Bahrain in Manama, with entrance being free for all. It also includes an Arabic hospitality event and musical performances from the Bahraini Samri Band and a traditional Saudi band.
Egyptian singer, recording artiste and actress Angham will regale music fans at a sold-out concert at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir on Friday.
She is expected to perform all-time favourites such as Sidi Wesalak (Your Charm), Kol Ma N’arrab (Whenever We Come Closer), and Omry Maa’ak (My Life With You).
Doors will open at 6pm, with the event slated to start at about 7pm.
Several free family activities will be hosted at the Marassi Galleria at Marassi Al Bahrain from Thursday to September 27.
These include an Arabic hospitality event from Thursday to Monday, 4pm to 10pm; a Saudi Ardha on Friday and Monday, 4.30pm to 10pm; and a Transformer Activation event for children from Friday to September 27, 1pm to 9.30pm.
Traditional bands will play Saudi music in several locations, including City Centre Bahrain on Monday, starting at 7.30pm; Dragon City from Thursday to Monday, 5pm to 10pm; Water Garden City on Friday, 8.30pm to 10.30pm; Al Liwan on Friday, 8pm to 9.30pm; Souq Al Baraha on Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 8pm; and Seef Mall in Manama on Friday, 8pm to 9.30pm.
Meanwhile, the BTEA has also launched a bundle of tourism packages and offers in co-operation with private sector companies, hotels and resorts.
These include more than 50 tourism packages, exclusive travel packages from the national carrier Gulf Air, distinctive entertainment events and other benefits.
