The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-MUB) celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day with a cake-cutting ceremony led by Supreme Council for Women member and Equal Opportunities Committee in Sports chairperson Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, RCSI president Professor Sameer Otoom and RCSI in Dublin president Prof Deborah McNamara.
The university’s female academics, researchers and operational staff were present.
“It gives me great pleasure to participate in the Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations at the university and have the opportunity to engage with its staff and students,” said Shaikha Hessa on the occasion.
“I am also delighted to witness the university’s achievements in light of its 20th anniversary and its ongoing efforts to empower female staff members through civic participation and equal opportunities.”
The occasion served as a platform to recognise the invaluable contributions of the women who account for 64 per cent of full-time personnel in the fields of academia, research and thought leadership.
