Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, recently celebrated the graduation of 20 national employees from its second cohort from the Top-Up Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programme, delivered in collaboration with Bahrain Polytechnic.
The employees completed rigorous programmes in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, gaining advanced technical knowledge and academic credentials to further their continued growth within Alba.
The graduation ceremony recently took place at the Bahrain National Theatre, and was attended by Alba chief executive officer Ali Al Baqali, alongside members of the executive management team and senior Bahrain Polytechnic officials.
“At Alba, learning never stops. By investing in the education and development of our national talent, we are not only empowering our team but also strengthening the future of our company and our kingdom,” said Mr Al Baqali on the occasion.
“I am proud of our graduates for their commitment, resilience and ability to balance professional duties with academic pursuits. Their achievement is a testament to what’s possible when ambition meets opportunity.”
This milestone brings the total number of Alba’s graduates from such Top-Up BEng programmes – delivered in collaboration with local and international academic institutions – to more than 90 over the past three years, underscoring Alba’s strong commitment to developing its national cadres.
