His Majesty King Hamad ratified and issued Law (1) of 2026 amending Article (219) of Decree-Law (54) of 2002 regarding the Internal Regulation of Parliament, following its approval by the Shura Council and Parliament. The law mandates the Parliament General Secretariat to prepare and submit the audited final account within three months of the end of the financial year, sets out the procedures for its review by the Speaker and the Bureau of the Council, allows its referral to the financial and economic affairs committee for examination and reporting, and stipulates that the approval and issuance of the final account shall follow the same procedures applied to the council’s budget .
