A young Bahraini was killed and five others injured in an horrific road accident in Saudi Arabia during the early hours of Saturday.
The group was travelling between Dammam and Riyadh on their way to Mecca to perform Umrah (Small Pilgrimage).
Medics pronounced 23-year-old Khalil Ibrahim Ali dead at the scene.
The others travelling in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
The Bahrain Embassy in Riyadh is monitoring the situation and helping to co-ordinate procedures to repatriate the body of the deceased man back to Bahrain so he can be laid to rest among his family and loved ones.
The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the community, particularly as a journey of worship had turned into one of tragedy.
