Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Dublin (RCSI) Vice Chancellor, chief executive officer and registrar Professor Cathal Kelly, and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Medical University of Bahrain president Professor Sameer Otoom.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that Bahrain is keen to continue strengthening close strategic partnerships with established academic and medical institutions to develop the national healthcare system, in line with the objectives of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that this approach supports the development of a sustainable healthcare system based on knowledge and innovation and contributes to supplying the medical sector with qualified medical and nursing professionals. He said that this positively reflects on the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents, while reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a leading destination for education and advanced medical research.
