His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) chairman, yesterday issued Edict (1) of 2026 reconstituting the board of directors of Bahrain Development Bank (BDB).
According to the edict, the BDB board of directors shall be reconstituted under the chairmanship of Ghassan Ghaleb Abdulaal, with Amna Ali Al Arrayedh, Hani Hussain Redha, Aysha Mohammed Abdulmalik, Yousef Mohammed Al Nafiee, Manal Shawqi Al Bayat, Marwa Khalid Al Saad and Tameem Salman Al Mousawi as members.
The board members shall serve a three-year term.
This edict will take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
HRH Prince Salman issued Edict (32) of 2026 reconstituting the Government Service Centres Evaluation Committee.
The Government Service Centres Evaluation Committee shall be reconstituted under the chairmanship of the chief executive officer of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), with the following members:
1. Director general of the Institute of Public Administration.
2. CEO of the National Communication Centre.
3. Under-Secretary for National Economy at the Finance and National Economy Ministry.
4. Director general of Organisation and Manpower Planning at the Civil Service Bureau.
5. Dean of the Abdulla bin Khalid College for Islamic Studies.
6. Director of the Government Service Quality Directorate at the Prime Minister’s Office.
7. Director of the Consumer Protection Directorate at the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
8. Dr Mohammed Abdulla Baqer.
9. Nada Abdulmajeed Al Qassab.
10. Ahmed Abdulhai Al Awadhi.
Committee members shall serve a four-year term, renewable for a similar period.
The concerned authorities shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also issued Edict (31) of 2026 reconstituting the National Committee for the Elderly, based on a proposal by the Social Development Minister.
The National Committee for the Elderly shall be reconstituted under the chairmanship of the Social Development Minister, with the following members:
1. Inspector-General, representing the Interior Ministry.
2. Deputy CEO of Government Hospitals, representing Government Hospitals.
3. Assistant under-secretary for social care and rehabilitation, representing the Social Development Ministry.
4. Director of Radio Affairs, representing the Information Ministry.
5. Director of Benefits and Pensioners’ Pensions Directorate, representing the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO).
6. Director of Minors Affairs Directorate, representing the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry.
7. Chief of Nursing Services at Primary Healthcare Centres, representing Primary Healthcare Centres.
8. Member of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), representing the Supreme Council for Women.
9. Chairman of the board of directors of Al Hekma Retired Society, representing Al Hekma Retired Society.
10. Member of the board of directors of the Bahrain Society for the Care of Parents, representing the Bahrain Society for the care of parents.
11. Director of Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa Centre for the Care of Elderly Bahraini Women, representing the Al Noor Charity Welfare Society.
12. Secretary-general of the Bahrain Charity Association, repesenting the Bahrain Charity Association.
The committee members shall serve a three-year term, renewable for a similar period.
The members shall elect a deputy chairperson from among themselves at the committee’s first meeting.
The ministers shall implement the provisions of this Edict, which shall take effect on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
