Information Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi and Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma attended the closing of the ‘From the Classroom to the Spotlight’ programme and the awarding of winners.
The programme is presented in an interactive format based on a cultural and knowledge competition among government school students.
Dr Al Nuaimi affirmed the commitment to continue adopting and supporting quality initiatives and programmes for young people, providing them with opportunities for active participation in Bahrain’s comprehensive development process.
He noted that this reflects the firm belief in the key role of youth in building the kingdom’s present and future under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Information Minister also commended the support given to young people by His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which helps create an environment that encourages creativity and innovation and strengthens the role of youth as key partners in various areas of national work.
He highlighted the partnership and co-operation between government entities in developing such meaningful initiatives, commending the co-operation with the Education Ministry in implementing the programme.
Dr Al Nuaimi also commended the programme’s purposeful content, which combines educational and entertainment elements, emphasising the commitment to continue developing quality media and educational initiatives that improve content for younger generations and enhance the role of media in supporting education and developing the knowledge and skills of young people.
Dr Juma underlined the importance of organising such programmes that encourage innovation and creativity and enhance students’ leadership skills.
He highlighted the need to expand them to cover all educational stages and increase the number of beneficiaries, in line with the Education Ministry’s plan for student activities.
The Education Minister commended the partnership between the Education Ministry and the Information Ministry, affirming that the co-operation between the two ministries will continue through the launch of more specialised programmes.
He noted that the Education Ministry launches annually a series of programmes, activities, events and competitions tailored to students’ interests and abilities.
A specialised team identifies talented and outstanding students in each field and develops plans to build their capabilities, strengthen their talents and meet their interests, whether through the ministry’s departments individually or in partnership with government and other institutions.
At the conclusion of the programme, the winners were awarded, with participation from 12 government schools.
Al Malikiyah Primary Intermediate Girls School won first place, West Riffa Primary Intermediate Girls School came second, and Al Busaiteen Intermediate Boys School took third place.
