Dr Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Ambassador to Malaysia, delivered a lecture at the National Resilience College of the Malaysian National Defence Studies Centre in Putrajaya, titled "The Evolving Security Landscape in the Middle East: Bahrain's Vision for Regional Stability, Diplomacy, and Collective Security." The event was attended by senior military, security, government, parliamentary, and academic officials.
He highlighted the close bilateral ties between Bahrain and Malaysia, supported by the leadership of both countries, and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various fields.
Ambassador Al Manea outlined Bahrain's approach to promoting regional security through diplomacy, collective action, and the protection of sovereignty and civilians.
He also addressed the recent Iranian attacks against GCC member states, their impact on critical infrastructure and maritime security, and the broader implications for regional and global stability.
The ambassador highlighted the Royal Order establishing the National Resilience Documentation Committee, noting that Bahrain has submitted 13 national letters and nine joint letters with the GCC member states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations.
He also referred to Bahrain's initiatives during its presidency of the UN Security Council in April to strengthen the protection of maritime routes and freedom of navigation, while commending Malaysia's support for UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
