Ghulam Rasool Unnar, a former minister from Pakistan’s Sindh, has filed a case against his ex-wife under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), claiming she shared AI-edited images of herself prior to their marriage.
The accused, Razia Arbab, denied the allegations in court, stating that Mr Unnar ‘levelled baseless allegations out of a personal grudge’.
Ms Arbab stated that the photos she shared were taken at the home of her ex-husband's friend, where she had been invited before their marriage.
She alleged that Mr Unnar was attempting to harass her by filing a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) using his ‘political influence’.
She also informed the court that she had filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband in a local court in Hyderabad on July 30, seeking the recovery of her dowry of Rs10 million (approx. BD13,600) and 50 acres of agricultural land specified in their marriage contract, as well as Rs100,000 (approx. BD136) in monthly maintenance.
