The mayor of Como, Italy, has banned bicycles from the city centre after being knocked down by an electric bike.
Alessandro Rapinese told Italian news agency ANSA: “People act based on their own experiences, and I know what it feels like to be hit by one of these beasts.”
Rapinese said the ban was necessary to protect pedestrians and improve public safety, with the measure set to take effect in September.
