The Housing and Urban Planning Ministry has urged residential buildings to follow a range of safety measures, stressing the importance of regularly inspecting electrical connections and distribution panels in apartments and ensuring that smoke and heat detectors are functioning properly.
Residents were also advised to keep corridors, stairways and other common areas clear of random storage.
