The significance of responsible co-operation between families and the Traffic Police has been highlighted as students gear up to return to school.
Director-General of Traffic Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa has affirmed that the safety of students is a top priority. He noted that a safe traffic environment will be a reassurance to parents and ensure that students reach their schools and return home safely.
Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman called on parents to comply with traffic laws and regulations while transporting their children, particularly around schools and educational areas.
He stressed that the Traffic Police will intensify its presence on various roads and streets as part of an integrated traffic management system to regulate traffic during peak hours.
It will also take firm action against any violation or traffic behaviour that may endanger students' safety.
He added that the General Directorate of Traffic has completed its preparations for the new academic year by intensifying traffic patrols and implementing awareness and guidance programmes in co-operation with various relevant authorities.
These efforts will help enhance traffic safety around schools.
Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman stressed that protecting students is a shared responsibility that requires collective efforts, and that the ultimate goal at the end of every school day is for every student to return safely to their family. He wished all students a safe academic year filled with success and achievement.
