A man in India’s Gwalior was ordered to scrub 3,400 lipstick kiss marks off his white hatchback car after a viral Instagram reel landed him a fine of Rs 5,500 (approx. BD25).
The car’s makeover was staged by the man's girlfriend in a bid to create a viral trend. According to the owner, it took three-and-a-half hours and Rs 900 (approx. BD4) worth of lipstick to completely cover the vehicle.
The stunt proved successful online, racking up more than 5.5 million views, but it also caught the attention of local traffic police.
Authorities traced the vehicle after footage showed it being driven at high speeds through the city. Police confiscated the car, citing dangerous driving and illegal vehicle modifications.
The owner acknowledged his mistake, admitting he was unaware the video would land him in legal trouble. Police released the vehicle only after he paid the fine, scrubbed it clean, and promised to adhere to traffic regulations.
