Bahrain has stressed the importance of creating opportunities that advance greater GCC integration.
This is in line with the aspirations of its leaders, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, pointed out yesterday.
The kingdom remains steadfast in its support for the advancement of its co-ordinated progress he said as he received GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi at Riffa Palace.
The support, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, reflects Bahrain’s deep-rooted belief in the importance of unity among member states and its commitment to strengthening co-ordination.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister was briefed by Mr Al Budaiwi on the progress made in implementing the directives and decisions issued by the leaders during the Extraordinary Consultative Gulf Summit of the GCC Supreme Council in April.
HRH Prince Salman directed the secretary-general to ensure the council achieves the visions and aspirations of the leaders, to contribute to furthering joint action in support of regional security, stability and peace, enhancing the states’ regional and international presence and advancing development, creating a prosperous future for all.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the solidarity demonstrated by GCC member states in addressing various issues.
He praised the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat in advancing multilateral action and supporting greater co-operation.
For his part, Mr Al Budaiwi expressed his gratitude to HRH Prince Salman for his steadfast commitment to strengthening GCC co-operation to achieve common goals and aspirations.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and senior officials also attended.
