Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the 313th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects.
The committee highly commended the speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad on the occasion of the start of the new academic year 2026–2027.
It also expressed its deep pride and appreciation for His Majesty’s praise of the measures taken by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure the continuity of the educational process during the exceptional circumstances the kingdom experienced as a result of the Iranian attacks.
The committee underscored the importance of the regulatory decisions issued by His Majesty’s personal representative and Supreme Council for Environment chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, aimed at developing the legislative frameworks governing wildlife in line with the Environmental Law and relevant international conventions, and enhancing the sustainable management of natural resources.
The committee reviewed efforts to prepare the road network surrounding educational institutions to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance safety, as well as preparations for the maintenance and rehabilitation of government school buildings.
The committee commended the Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry’s launch, in co-ordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), of the pilot phase of the Digital Building Information Modelling (BIM) project.
The committee also noted the Works Ministry’s opening of Boulevard Road in the Riffa area to traffic, highlighting its positive impact on the efficiency of the kingdom’s main road network and the provision of a smooth and direct link between Zallaq Highway and Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, thereby improving traffic flow and facilitating mobility.
The committee welcomed the Supreme Council for Environment’s development of a range of advanced digital government services.
