BEACH SOCCER – Bahrain's senior men’s beach soccer national team emerged yesterday in a challenging Group A for the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2026.
The tournament is set to take place in the city of Phang Nga, Thailand from November 18 to 28.
It will be the 12th edition of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) event.
The AFC held the official draw yesterday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Bahrain were drawn in Group A alongside Japan, Iraq, and hosts Thailand.
Group B is composed of Lebanon, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and defending champions Iran; while Group C features Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan.
Following a single round-robin, the winners and runners-up of each group, as well as the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The Bahrainis have already begun their preparations for the continental competition.
They held an overseas training camp last month in Saudi, during which they played two friendly games against the hosts – losing the first but bouncing back to win the second.
