US Ambassador Stephanie Hallett hosted the US Embassy’s Independence Day Reception at Exhibition World Bahrain, celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence and the longstanding friendship between the US and Bahrain.
His Majesty King Hamad’s Personal Representative and Guest of Honour Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the celebration, along with Cabinet ministers, Shura Council and Parliament members, government officials, ambassadors, business leaders, and other distinguished guests.
During the event, Ambassador Hallett reflected on the significance of the milestone and the longstanding relationship between the two countries, noting, “250 years – that’s quite the anniversary to commemorate. Not just for the US and our own history,but for our shared history with Bahrain.”
Guests enjoyed an evening celebrating American history, culture, innovation, and friendship. The event featured performances by the Interior Ministry Band and the US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) Band, a Boeing flight simulator in partnership with Gulf Air, and a display of classic and contemporary American cars supported by Almoayyed Motors and the Bahrain Classic Car Club.
Guests also tested their knowledge of the US through an interactive trivia game and explored displays highlighting 250 years of American history and the longstanding connections between the US and Bahrain.
The celebration marked this historic American milestone while highlighting the enduring friendship and strong people-to-people ties between the US and Bahrain.
