Libyan authorities arrested two pilots on Wednesday after they allegedly operated a private jet while intoxicated before crashing on a runway in the north-western city of Misrata.
The private aircraft, operated by a firm headquartered in Türkiye, veered off the Misrata Airport runway during a landing attempt on September 14 before catching fire.
No casualties were reported in the crash; the two pilots and a flight attendant were the only individuals on board.
Investigators allegedly uncovered evidence that the pilots were under the influence of alcohol during the flight, prompting prosecutors to order their pre-trial detention.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
