Oman Police have investigated two videos that went viral showing expatriates throwing money at retail workers.
The initial video, which sparked widespread online criticism for disrespectful behaviour, showed a customer throwing cash at a cashier performing his duties.
A second clip featuring a similar interaction with a female employee was subsequently found by investigators to have been staged as an awareness stunt.
The Royal Oman Police confirmed that legal procedures are currently being completed against all parties involved.
