Bapco has played a prominent role in developing the oil and refining sector across the region and continues to develop and modernise today through the efforts of its national workforce, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has said.
Bahrain stands today at a national milestone in the energy sector, he said during a visit to the Bapco Refinery yesterday.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad to all employees of Bapco Energies.
He was welcomed by His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Bapco Energies board of directors chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed his pride in the dedicated efforts of Shaikh Nasser and all Bapco Energies personnel.
He commended the competence, capability and sense of national responsibility of the workforce, noting their efforts in maintaining the operational continuity, ensuring the efficiency of the kingdom’s energy system and safeguarding the continuity of its supply chains.
This reinforces the security of the energy sector and its role as a vital pillar of the national economy amid the hostile Iranian aggression against Bahrain, he said.
HRH Prince Salman commended the developmental initiatives and strategic projects undertaken by Bapco Energies and its subsidiaries, that advance the efficiency and competitiveness of both the energy sector and Bapco Energies.
He noted that these efforts are a critical contributor to the national economy and drive the sector’s contribution to the advancement of the kingdom’s comprehensive development led by His Majesty.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised that the national progress achieved by the energy sector over the past decades reflects an ambitious vision recognising the sector’s pivotal role in supporting Bahrain’s economic development.
That vision is further underpinned by the competence and expertise of the national workforce, which has helped develop the sector, enhance its capabilities and strengthen its contribution to the national economy.
During the visit, HRH Prince Salman met the board of directors and executive management of Bapco Energies.
