HANDBALL – Bahrain’s senior men’s handball national team received a hero’s welcome upon their return from Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, where they bagged their historic gold medals in the men’s handball tournament at the 20th Asian Games.
Receiving the team upon their return to the kingdom were General Sports Authority CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) president Ali Issa Eshaqi, BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji, and other BOC and BHF officials.
The kingdom’s squad secured their title triumph after beating Gulf rivals Qatar 33-32 in a hugely exciting final played Tuesday night.
