THE National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced a strategic partnership with INFINIOS, a Central Bank of Bahrain-licensed financial solutions and infrastructure provider, during Fintech Forward 2026.
Under the agreement, NBB will become a preferred banking partner for INFINIOS in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, with the potential to extend the relationship to the UAE market.
The agreement creates a broader structure for the two organisations to build on their well-established collaboration while supporting INFINIOS’ continued growth in the region. It also reflects the increasing need among fintech companies for integrated banking capabilities that can accommodate their requirements as they enter new markets, while maintaining the compliance standards and operational discipline required in the financial sector.
Through its presence in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, NBB is positioned to provide INFINIOS with banking support aligned to its evolving requirements in both jurisdictions. The arrangement brings these capabilities together within a single group relationship, providing greater continuity as INFINIOS develops its business and extends its presence within the GCC.
Commenting on the agreement, Ali Abdulkarim, group CEO – Corporate and Commercial Banking at NBB, said: “As fintech businesses extend their operations into new markets, they require banking partners that understand the nuances of each jurisdiction while providing support across their regional operations. Our collaboration with INFINIOS demonstrates how NBB can support that journey through our presence in important GCC economies and a clear understanding of the requirements of technology-led financial businesses. We look forward to building on the trust already established between our organisations.”
INFINIOS CEO Sherif Abdelsalam added: “At INFINIOS, we believe the future of financial services is increasingly connected and borderless. Our international clientele operate across markets and expect financial partners that match their ambitions with reach, agility and reliability. Making that possible depends not only on sophisticated capabilities, but on trusted relationships, shared values and strong regulatory foundations. Our shared roots in the Kingdom of Bahrain provide a natural alignment, and by bringing together INFINIOS’ technology and regulated capabilities with NBB’s banking strength and regional presence, we are strengthening our ability to serve clients wherever they are based and do business.”
The agreement further strengthens NBB’s engagement with the fintech sector and demonstrates the value of its cross-market capabilities in supporting companies with ambitions to scale beyond borders. By combining its banking expertise, regional presence, and established approach to compliance, NBB continues to develop relationships with emerging financial technology businesses and contribute to a more connected and dynamic digital financial ecosystem across the GCC.
